One: Lord, it is morning.

The first hours of the day are for presence.

We are waking up to you.

All: We thank you, God, for the gift of another day.

One: Yesterday has passed, along with everything in it. As we begin something new, we bring you our anxieties, our concerns, and our responsibilities so that for this small moment we can start the day with you.

All: We thank you, for you are our delight and our peace.

One: Today will bring its own anxieties, concerns, and responsibilities. But may it also bring us laughter that surprises us, friendships that renew us, and comfort that fills us.

All: We thank you, God, for bringing life and life to the full.

One: We are a scattered people, worshiping in different churches and cities, with different histories and traditions. But today, this weekend, we are gathered together from many corners of the world to commune with you and with one another. Spirit, fall upon us and open our mouths to speak of your ever-expanding love. Open our ears to hear the good news of our reconciliation.

All: We thank you, God, for making us a covenant people.

One: The day is new. May we recognize its promise.

The day is full. Help us walk in your courage.

The day sings your praises. Make us alive to the chorus of creation that fills the world like light.

All: We thank you, O God; we sing your praises. Amen.
